Flex Timetracking

Internally here at Teknision we have been beta testing a Flex app that we started developing upon the release of the Flex Alpha. It is a Flex UI for our internal TimeTracking application that all of our employees use:



Everyone in the shop uses the Timetracker everyday, so we thought it would be a great project to use to get everyone in the shop up to speed on Flex 2. So far in the testing I have been doing with it, I am quite impressed with the results. Mike and Stacey, who did most of the work on it did a great job.

While we haven't focused on a custom skin yet, the application UI feels nice with the addition of drag and drop, favourites, notes, etc. Also the fact that it is built in Flex makes it easier to build upon in the future.

Our older version was designed in Flash a year ago and has worked really well for us:




but more and more the power of the Flex Framework has been impressing me, and more and more I see it being at the center of my toolset.
